The International Development and Community Organization (IDECO) launched a groundbreaking climate change initiative in Apagya,
Ghana, aimed at raising awareness and fostering environmental responsibility among the younger generation. Partnering with the Christ-Centered English Assembly Church, the initiative was introduced during the Children’s Ministry Day celebration, with the theme, “Caring for Our Planet: Understanding Climate Change and How We Can Help.”

This program sought to educate children about the causes, effects, and solutions to climate change in an engaging and accessible manner. Through drama performances, poetry recitations, music, and hands-on workshops, the children learned practical ways to combat climate change, including tree planting, waste reduction, and water conservation. IDECO also distributed educational materials—books, pens, and rulers—inscribed with inspiring messages like “Be the Change” to encourage lasting environmental habits.

By collaborating with local religious and community groups, IDECO empowered these young participants to become ambassadors for climate action, spreading their newly gained knowledge to their families and communities. This initiative not only educated children but also nurtured a strong sense of responsibility, establishing a model for grassroots climate education that can be replicated in other communities.

IDECO is now seeking the support of donors, organizations, and individuals to help continue and expand this impactful program. Your generous donations will enable IDECO to reach more children, provide additional learning resources, and create a sustainable, long-term impact on environmental awareness and action. Together, we can inspire the next generation to become stewards of our planet, making a tangible difference in the fight against climate change
