Empowering Lives: IDECO's Compassionate Outreach to Mali's Street Children

IDECO supports street children, known as "Les GARIBU," in Sevare, Mali's central Mopti cercle. IDECO provides essential services like food and medical assistance, raising awareness about hygiene practices like handwashing.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, IDECO distributed masks to the children, demonstrating their commitment to supporting vulnerable populations. Since its inception in May 2017, the initiative has transformed the lives of over 800 “Les GARIBU” by providing them with a sense of belonging, well-being, health, proper nutrition, and dignity.

Birthday celebrations foster community and resilience among these children, even as young as two years old. This initiative embodies the belief that every child deserves moments of joy, love, and hope for a better tomorrow. Through IDECO's unwavering support, Les GARIBU not only survive but also thrive, illustrating the transformative power of compassion and solidarity in the face of adversity.
