Portable Drinking Water Needs Assesment in Aboaso in the Kwabere East Municipality and Desereagya in the Atwima Mponua District in Kumasi, Ashanti Region Ghana.
Access to clean and safe drinking water remains a fundamental, yet unmet, need for many rural communities in Ghana. Aboaso and Desereagya represent microcosms of wider regional challenges, characterized by limited water infrastructure and the prevalence of waterborne diseases. This needs assessment aims to quantify the gaps in water access and propose a framework for intervention.
This needs assessment prepared by International Development and Community Organization (IDECO), identifies significant deficiencies in access to safe and portable drinking water in two specific villages within the Ashanti Region of Ghana: Aboaso in the Kwabere East Municipality and Desereagya in the Atwima Mponua District. The scarcity of potable water in these villages adversely affects health, education, and economic development of the population.
IDECO is actively seeking sponsors and partners to collaborate on implementing sustainable water solutions in these areas. Contributions can be in the form of financial support, materials, expertise, or technology. Collaborative efforts will be directed towards infrastructure development, community training, and ongoing support to ensure sustainability and local ownership.
