Daniel Ihabe/ Board Member and adviser
Daniel Ihabe is an accomplished military officer and academic with extensive experience in aviation, logistics, and strategic operations. He is a board member and adviser at the International Development and community organization (IDECO)
Currently, he is a Facilitator/Consultant at the UN Accredited Centre of Excellence - Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre – Abuja Nigeria. Before joining the center, he served as the dean of the School of Air Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Kaduna, where he oversees the education of over 600 students in aviation and management. He also coordinated the design and manufacture of surveillance drones and aircraft for the Nigerian Air Force, while engaging in rigorous research and development efforts.
Daniel was the Director of Research and Development at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja. There, he coordinated all R&D activities, organized seminars and conferences, and liaised with tertiary institutions to foster innovation. His efforts contributed to the development of policies to enhance the air force’s operational capabilities.
Daniel’s leadership experience also includes serving as the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at the Air Force Institute of Technology. In this capacity, he continued his work in education, helping to deliver aviation and management programs to a large cohort of students. Earlier in his career, he held various positions at the institute, including Head of the Department of Aircraft Maintenance as well as Chief Instructor at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna
As Depot Logistics Officer at the 333 Logistics Group at the Nigerian Air Force Kaduna, Daniel was responsible for the airlift of heavy-duty materials and military personnel across Nigeria. His duties included coordinating troop movements for international duties, including to Darfur, Sudan, and managing maintenance and operations of aircraft ground equipment. He also ensured the efficient scheduling of logistics operations.
Daniel's international experience includes serving as a Military Observer with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), where he held multiple key positions, including Team Leader, Sector Joint Logistics Coordinator, and G3-Operations Officer. He also served as a Commanding Officer and Technical Adviser for the Nigerian Air Force, where he managed logistics operations, procurement, and the establishment of detachments in Liberia and Nigeria.
In addition to his practical contributions, Daniel has authored several notable publications, such as Energy Conservation in Nigerian Oil Companies; Strategies for Conflict Resolution in the West African Subregion; The Effect of Heat Stress on Pilots During Logistics Operations; An Air Force in aid of civil power and authority; He co-authored research on propulsion systems, with works appearing in the Journal of Aerospace Engineering.

His robust academic background includes a PhD in Thermal Power and Renewable Energy from the University of Cranfield (UK); an MSc in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan; an M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering (Energy Studies) from Bayero University; and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from the Nigerian Defense Academy. His deep knowledge and wide-ranging experience solidify his reputation as a leader in advancing air force operations, education, and research.
